Whoever had not hear of the man of steel at least once on their life?
If you claim to not to have to, I would seriously think you’ve been living under a box or worse.
Superman was born on the planet Krypton under the name of Kal El, being the son of the scientist Jor El and Lara Lor Van. When Kal El was still very young, his father discovered that a new radioactive substance was forming inside the planet (that was lethal for kryptonians) which would eventually start showing up on the planet’s surface, leading to Krypton’s destruction.
He warned the Science Counselors (the ones that ruled the planet) and then soon created a device, The Messenger, that controlled the changing pressures of the planet to prevent the kryptonite from resurfacing and keeping the planet together.
However, the planet was soon attacked by an evil being called Brainiac 1.0, whom shrunk the city of Kandor (where the Messenger was) and with that causing the destruction of Krypton.
Jor El, however, managed to build up a escaping device for his son, sending him to the Earth planet right before Krypton exploded; knowing that the blue planet’s gravity and the yellow sun would give his son extraordinary powers.
Kal El’s ship landed on a field near the town of Smallville, and was found by Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent. They gave him the name ‘Clark’ and legally adopted him, raising him on their farm until his High School years.
As time passed, Clark soon discovered the powers he possessed; unsure of what to do with them at first his parents decided it was best for him to hide them from the other people, in order to protect their son. Clark agreed and spent his earlier years trying to pass unnoticed by the common eyes, yet he still would inevitably use his powers to help other people due to the good nature of his heart.
Right when Clark was about to move to the city of Metropolis, to attend to college, he met a peculiar trio, whom was no-one else but Brainiac 5, Bouncing boy and Saturn Girl. They told him they’ve come from the future, looking for him since they needed his help back at the 31st century.
At first Clark didn’t believe them, mostly shoving them off telling them he was no hero and most importantly not the ‘Superman’ they were looking for; at that point, Clark still hadn’t created his ‘superhero persona’ and was still learning how to use his powers properly. But the future people simply didn’t seem to want to take a ‘no’ for an answer; they somehow managed to convince Clark by picking on his curiosity, telling him that he might learn new great things and more about himself and his powers, so Clark ended agreeing to go with them to the future.
Once there Clark found out what of a great, admired hero he would be: Superman. At first he felt a little overwhelmed by the information, unsure that if he could be the superhero everyone expected, but he soon made up his mind and saved all the other Legionaries from being defeated from the Fatal Five (a group of super villains).
After that incident, Superman stayed at the 31st century for a while, hanging along with his fellow legionaries, fighting evil and learning more about himself and his powers, but still reminding oblivious about some fact about the pas/his future, because Brainy feared it might interfere with the proper time flood and change drastically their present (31st century present, anyway).
Clark is cheerful and quite sociable with a pinch of dorkyness, a little naive when it comes to trust people. He follows a very strict moral code, refusing to kill anyone but only if there is no other solution; also making him very merciful and mellow. He fervently wants to save everyone in most occasions (if not all), which sometimes leads him to desperation, impulsiveness (which can lead to imprudent acts at times and self-sacrifical tendencies) and self-hating for not being able to protect everyone all the time. His greatest fear is to fail on protecting/saving the people he cares for; his important people.
As for his powers, Superman is knows to have super strenght, the ability to fly, super speed, super hearing, heat vision, x-ray vision and freezing breath; being pretty much invulnerable to anything but kryptonite. On Luceti his powers would be severely lowered down, instead of fly he'd only manage to float above the ground for a few minutes before feeling exhausted, he'd be just a little stronger and faster than a normal human, his hearing would be pretty sharp too, heat vision would barely be warm, same with his freezing breath (it'll only let out a cool breeze). Eh... the X-ray vision can stay, I think xD; Oh, and for now he can get hurt and feel pain like any normal human.
Some random character addendums.- At this point of his life, Clark has no idea what his home planet was nor what happened to it (thus not knowing Brainiac 5's ancestor was the responsible for Krypton's destruction). He also doesn't know he's vulnerable to kryptonite; only that his powers only work under yellow sun.
